With all these allegations of “fake news” hurled back and forth between the media and the government, it can be difficult to know whom to trust. I believe people should be given the facts, and then encouraged to use their own judgement, for the mind of every human being should be respected.

This highlight transcript contains a series of direct quotes from President Trump & the reporters at yesterday’s presser, presented in chronological order to preserve context. I believe it illuminates the message of the new administration, as well as captures faithfully the events of the conference.

Whether it is the government, the media, or another system of control, corrupt agencies will always attempt to think for you. I invite you to read the actual words, do your thing, and make up your own mind.

Highlight Transcript of President Trump Press Conference, Feb 15,2017:

Trump: I think I’ll say a few words, and then we’ll take some questions.

I’m here today to update the American people on the incredible progress made in the last four weeks, since my inauguration. We’ve made incredible progress; I don’t think there’s been a president elected who, in this short period of time, has done what we’ve done.

I’m making this presentation to the American people because many of our nation’s reporters will not tell you the truth, and will not treat the wonderful people of this country with the respect they deserve.

Unfortunately, a lot of the media in D.C., New York, and Los Angeles speak not for the people, but for the special interests and those profiting off an obviously broken system.

The press has become so dishonest, that we have to talk about it. The level is dishonesty is out of control.

To be honest, I inherited a MESS. At home and abroad, a mess. Jobs are pouring out of this country, low wages, mass instability overseas, no matter where you look. We’re going to take care of it folks; were going to take care of it all.

We’ve already begun enormously productive talks with many foreign leaders to move towards stability and peace in the most troubled regions in the world. We’ve had great conversations and meetings with the United Kingdom, Isreal, Japan, China, & Canada.

We’ve even developed a new council with Canada to promote women’s business leaders and entrepreneurs. Very important to me, very important to my daughter Ivanka.

I’ve directed our defense community headed by our great general, Secretary Mattis, to submit a plan to defeat ISIS, a group that celebrates the murder and torture of innocent people in large section of the world. ISIS has spread like cancer. Another mess I inherited.

We’ve imposed new sanctions on Iran, who has totally taken advantage of our previous administration, and is the world’s top sponsor of terrorism. We are not going to stop until that problem is properly solved.

I’ve ordered plans to begin the massive rebuilding of the U.S. military, and I’ve had great support from Congress. We’ve pursued this rebuilding in hopes we will never have to use this military. I would be so happy if we never had to use it.

We have the greatest people in the world in our military, but they don’t have the right equipment; it’s old, and it’s depleted — depleted! Not gonna be depleted for long.

At home, we’ve begun the monumental task of returning the government back to the people on a scale not seen in many years.

In each of these, I’m just keeping my campaign promises. After years of politicians lying to you to get elected, I’m following what I’ve pledged to do. The media is attacking this administration for what we’ve pledged to do.

In the morning, I turn on the TV, I open the paper and see stories of chaos — chaos! It is the exact opposite: this administration is running like a fine-tuned machine. We have a wonderful group of people working very hard. Let me list some of the things we’ve done, promises to the American People:

We’ve withdrawn from the job-killing disaster known as Trans-Pacific Partnership. We’re going to make deals, but one-on-one deals, bi-lateral deals.

We’ve directed elimination of regulation that undermined manufacturing, and called for expedited approval for American infrastructure: plants, equipment, roads, bridges, factories. We want plants built, factories, and we want the jobs.

We’ve imposed a hiring freeze on non-essential government positions. We’ve issued a game-changing new rule that says for each one new regulation, two old regulations must be eliminated. Makes sense.

We’ve stood up for the men and women of law enforcement, directing federal agencies to ensure they are protected from violence.

We’ve directed the creation of a task force for reducing violent crime in America, including the horrendous situation in our inner cities. Horrible.

We’ve ordered the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security to coordinate on a plan to destroy criminal cartels coming into the U.S. with drugs. We’ve become a drug-infested nation. Drugs are becoming cheaper than candy bars, and we’re not going to let that happen any longer.

We’ve undertaken the most substantial border security measures in a generation to keep our nation & tax dollars safe, and are now in the process to build a promised wall on the southern border. The wall is going to be a great wall, a wall negotiated by me, and the price will come down, just like everything else I’ve negotiated for the government. We’re going to have a wall that works.

We’ve ordered a crackdown on sanctuary cities that refuse to comply with federal law, and have ordered an end to the policy of “catch and release.”

We’ve begun a nationwide effort to remove criminal aliens, gang members, drug dealers, and others who pose a threat to public safety; we are saving American lives every day.

We’ve even created an office in the Department of Homeland Security dedicated to the forgotten American victims of illegal immigrant violence.

I will not back down from defending our country, I got elected on defense of our country. The citizens will be very happy with the result, and I think many already are.

We’ve also taken steps to begin construction of the Keystone and Dakota Access Pipelines — thousands of jobs — and put new “buy American” measures in place to require American steel for American pipelines. And they’re willing to do that. No one ever asked them before I came along.

To drain the swamp of corruption in D.C., I’ve started by imposing a five-year lobbying ban on White House officials, and a lifetime ban on lobbying for a foreign government.

We’re preparing to repeal and replace Obamacare — Obamacare is a disaster, folks; and we are deep in negotiations on a historic new tax reform to bring our jobs back to this country, bigly.

I’ve also worked to install a Cabinet — through delays and obstruction of Senate Democrats — that will be one of the great Cabinets ever assembled in American history. Among their responsibilities will be ending the bleeding of jobs from this country, and negotiating fair trade deals for our citizens. Fair, not free, fair; if a country takes advantage of us, we’re not going to let that happen anymore.
Jobs have already started to surge: Ford will invest $700 million in Michigan; Fiat Chrysler announced it will invest $1 billion in Ohio and Michigan creating 2000 jobs; General Motors committed to invest billions of dollars in its American manufacturing operation, keeping many jobs here that were going to leave — and if I didn’t get elected, believe me, they would’ve left.

Intel announced it will move ahead with a new plant in Arizona that will result in at least 10000 jobs; Walmart announced it will create 10000 jobs in the U.S. just this year because of our various plans & initiatives. And there will be many, many more; these are just a few.

One more thing: I’ve kept my promise to the American people by nominating a justice to the Supreme Court, Judge Neil Gorsuch, a highly respected man, who will be a true defender of our laws and constitution.

This last month has represented an unprecedented degree of action on behalf of the great citizens of our country, and we haven’t started the big work yet. That starts early next week.

We’re just getting started. God bless America. Lets take a few questions.

That’s it for Part 1. Stay tuned for the highlight-transcript of Part 2: the Q & A, or what I like to call The Show.

God bless each and every one of you. And God bless America!
